Max Payne is an action shooter about Max Payne. The main character is a drug dealer. Max was framed and accused of killing his own partner. After numerous escapes from the police, he found a trail leading to the gang that had previously killed his family.
Great emphasis is placed on shooting and action parts. During each massacre, you have to use time dilation. While jumping or going down stairs, you can slow down the world around you. This will provide an opportunity to better aim, dodge shots and enjoy colorful moments. Many levels in the gameplay are corridors, you have to look for keys, find hidden passages, or shoot with opponents. But there are also rooms where you can go in different ways.
The main character is an ordinary person, and in this gameplay it was perfectly shown. Almost all opponents have greater survivability than the protagonist. A couple of hits in the body of Max - death and passing the level again. There are also such enemies that have a large supply of lives due to thick armor. There are also bosses with a lot of HP.
Only bullet-time helps to survive in firefights, since in slow time Max has more opportunities to kill opponents. The slowdown bar will replenish when killing enemies. The hero is able to perform rolls, thanks to which he becomes practically invulnerable to enemy shots. Before a firefight, you can learn about the location of opponents, plan your attack, and then act, which gives a tactical advantage.
